Hazel Maxwell 1899 - 1979

Hazel Maxwell was born December 28, 1899 in Blencoe, Iowa and passed from this life in the St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa on October 14, 1979. Death came at the age of 79 years. She was the daughter of Leamon and Laverne Heller Jester.

On July 15, 1950, she was united in marriage with William Maxwell in Onawa, Iowa.

She accepted the Christ as her Savior and was baptized in the First Christian Church on April 11, 1960. Hazel remained active in her faith until the last moment of her life on earth.

Survivors include her one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Rothen-buehler of Sioux Falls, South Dakota ; one step-son Everett Maxwell in Sterling, Colorado; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; three sisters; Mrs. Roy (Opal) Pederson of Emmetsburg, Iowa; Mrs. John (Lela) Huyck of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Mrs. Arthur (Hester) Orr of Onawa; two brothers; Edward Jester of Blencoe and Ben Jester of Onawa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one daughter.

Services were held on Wednesday, October 17, 1979 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church at Onawa with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating.

Mrs. Clara Kelley, the organist, played the selections "The Twenty-Third Psalm" and "How Great Thou 'Art."

Bearers were Tim Huber, Bernard Farber, Charles Framke Robert Harvey, Leamon Harvey and John Jester.

Interment was in the Little Sioux Cemetery at Little Sioux, Iowa with arrangement by the Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa, Iowa.
