MOOREHEAD, Iowa — Dorothy Swenson, 74, of Moorehead died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorehead. Burial will be in Soldier Lutheran Cemetery, Soldier, Iowa. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today at Huebner Funeral Home in Charter Oak, Iowa.

Mrs. Swenson was born July 8, 1924, in Charter Oak, the daughter of Irvin and Gladys (Rosenbaugh) King. She was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist faith. She graduated from Charter Oak Community School in 1942 and attended Denison Normal School.

She taught in country school near Charter Oak.

She married Clifford Adolph Swenson on June 15, 1947. The coupled lived in Moorehead.

She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School, American Legion Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors of America. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and researching family genealogy.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters and their husbands, Donna Lynn and Lester Goslar of Mapleton, Iowa, and Victoria Marie and B. Cobene Watkins of Cordova, Tenn.; a son and his wife, Dwight Clifford and Kathleen of Soldier; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Jean Lyons of Knoxville, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ronald and Donald King; a sister, Ruth Lynch; and an infant son, Samuel K.
