Norman E. Lee, 66, of Moorhead, Iowa, died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

Norman was born June 18, 1932, at Soldier, Iowa, the son of Theodore and Luella (Pardee) Lee. He attended school at Castana and Soldier where he lived as he grew up. On May 24,1952, he married June Hoffman at the R.L.D.S. Church in Moorhead.

He served in the Korean War and was discharged in September 1954. He was employed with Monona County as a bulldozer operator from 1954 to 1967, then started his own construction business.

He was a member of the Peter A. Hanson American Legion Post #365 at Moorhead, Iowa, and the Monona County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2694 at Onawa, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, June; one son, Joe and his wife, Andrea Lee of Denison, Iowa; two daughters, Julie Evers of Moorhead, Iowa, and Nancy and her husband, Rusty Gosch of Moorhead; one brother, Kenneth and his wife, LaVirta of Soldier; two sisters, Juanita and her husband, Ronnie Burke of Castana, and Aim and her husband, Maynard Swenson of Soldier; nine grandchildren, Heather, Jayna, Andy, Parker, Hannah, and Maxwell Lee, A.J. and Tyler Evers, and Brittany Gosch; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Michael Burke.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 29, 1999 at Bethesda Lutheran Church at Moorhead with Rev. Margo Fohs officiating.

The organist was Janice Smith. The Men's Quartet, Jim Severson, Stan Hansen, Gordon Foss and David Zahrt, sang "How Great Thou Art" and "The New Twenty-Third Psalm" accompanied by Mrs. Daryle Lauritsen.

Honorary Bearers were Bruce Graybill, Ron Shol, Donnie Clark, Ivan Nielsen, Gene Martindale, Donnie Solberg, Bernard Farber and Gene Bothwell.

Casket Bearers were Gary Hopp, Dennis Lee, Ron, Yockey, Kevin Swenson, Oscar Sandvold and Bill McGuire.

Interment was in Spring Valley Cemetery, Moorhead, Iowa, with Military Graveside Services by Peter A. Hansen American Legion Post #365, Moorhead, Iowa.
