The Obituary of Mrs. Leatha Ann Maxwell

Mrs. Leatha Ann Maxwell was born November 12, 1894 at Onawa, Iowa and passed from this life at her home in Blencoe, Iowa, on March 16, 1957. Death came at the age of 61 years, four months and five days.

She was united in marriage with Dale Maxwell at Onawa, Iowa, September 2, 1915. He passed away January 10, 1957.

Mrs. Maxwell was a life long resident of Blencoe. She was a good woman; though she never had any children of her own, yet she made a home for several and was as a mother to them. Her care and devotion to her husband during his long illness will long be remembered by those who knew.

Survivors are her three brothers, James E. Collison, Bert Collison, and Clarence Collison, all of Blencoe; one sister, Mrs. May Willsey of Williams, Arizona, a number of other relatives and friends. Two brothers, Earl and Pearl and one sister, Angeline preceded her in death.

Funeral services were, held on Wednesday, March 20th at 2 p.m., at the Congregational church in Blencoe, Rev. Everett Epperson conducted the services. Mrs. Lois Rock and Mrs. Illa Cartmell sang "Abide with Me" and "No nigh there" accompanied by Mrs. Annette Carlson.

Honorary bearers were Marshal Parks, John Butcher, Floyd Cooper, Carl Weaver, Ed Dehn Sr., an Carl Erickson.

Active bearers were Leo Marley, Ed Dehn Jr., George Dehn, Milo Stanislav. Interment was in the Blencoe Cemetery with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home.
