BLENCOE RESIDENT DIED JANUARY 10, 1957

DALE MAXWELL PIONEER BLENCOE CITIZEN PASSED AWAY JANUARY 10, AFTER A LONG ILLNESS.

Funeral Services were held on Sunday, January 13. Burial was made in the Blencoe Cemetery with Rev. Epperson officiating.

Dale Maxwell, son of Alex and Olive Maxwell, was born near Blencoe, Iowa on August 17, 1889 and, passed from this lite on January 10, 1957. Death came in the Onawa Hospital following a long illness.

On September 2, 1915, he was united in marriage with Leatha Collison at Onawa, Iowa. The couple made their home near Blencoe, on the farm until just a few months ago, at which time failing health forced them to leave the farm and move into Blencoe.

Dale was a good neighbor and a real friend to all, especially to anyone in need. During his long illness he was patient and uncomplaining. While he had no children, Yet he unselfishly shared his home with others; there are 14 different people who have at one time made their home with Dale Maxwell.

Survivors are his devouted wife, Leatha, one brother, Ray Maxwell, of Blencoe, one aunt, Mrs Mollie Linscott of Sloan, three Uncles, Anberry Collins of Omaha, Marion Ray of Sioux City and Clark Raw of Canada, severa nieces and nephews along with a number of other relatives any friends.

He was preceded in deatl by his parents, one sister, Fay and one brother, Bill.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 13th at 2 p.m. at the Congregational church in Blencoe, with Rev. Everett Epperson conducting the services. Mrs. Illa Cartmell and Mrs. Lois Rock sang accompanied by Mrs. Annette Carlson.

Honorary bearers were Marshall Parks, John Butcher, Floyd Cooper, Carl Weaver, Louis Allgood, Ed Dehn Sr., and Carl Erickson.

Active bearers were Leo Marley, Ed Dehn Jr., Newel Keele, George Dehn, Milo Stanislav and Dick Cartmell. Interment was in the cemetery at Blencoe with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home.
