Jennie Louden Maule 1886 - 1969

Jennie Louden Maule, daughter of Joseph and Barbara Catherine McElroy, was born in Monona County on October 22, 1886. She passed away August 12 at Castro Valley, Calif. following a short illness. She had attained the age of 82 years, 9 months, 20 days.

In 1908 she was united in marriage to Charles R. Maule at Council Bluffs. They lived in Harrison county until moving to Onawa in 1916, where they made their home. Mr. Maule preceded her in death January 20, 1941. Jennie was a school teacher in Harrison and Monona counties, and was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Elroy of Onawa and Robert of Turin; two daughters, Mrs. William (Lois) Beedle of Onawa and Mrs. Myles (Inez) DeSomer of San Leandro, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 15 at Pearson Funeral Chapel in Onawa. Rev. Everett Major officiated. Clara Kelley played as organ selections, "Beyond the Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Casket bearers were John Mobly, Roscoe Burke, Eugene Persinger, Dewey Beedle, Fred Sanders and Don Reese. Interment was at the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by Pearson funeral home of Onawa.
