A.J. "Tony" Prochelo, 63, of Des Moines, formerly of Sioux City, passed away July 3, 1984, at a hospital in Des Moines after a brief illness.

He was born April 2, 1921, in Sioux City. He was formerly president and currently was secretary-treasurer of the Iowa Licensed Beverage Services.

He formerly owned the Turin Inn and Town Club in Sioux City.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, of Des Moines; four sons, A.J. Prochelo, Jr., of Atlanta, Ga.; Michael Prochelo of Los Angeles, Calif.; Chauncey Prochelo of Kirkland, Ill.; and Peter Prochelo of Sioux City, Ia.; two daughters, Nancy Lopez of Kirkland, Ill.; and Gina Prochelo of Sioux City; two stepsons, Corey Mohrhauser and Robert Dowd, both of Sioux City; his mother, Mary Prochelo of Sioux City; one sister, Rose Grego of Sioux City; one brother, Leo Prochelo of Las Vegas, Nev.; and three step granddaughters.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 1984, at Dunn's Funeral Home in Des Moines.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, July 7th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa, with Father Donald Smith officiating. Mrs. Darrell Hewitt was the organist.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa.
