Lillie C. Prokop, age 80, of Mapleton, Iowa, died on Sunday, February 26, 1989, at her home in Mapleton, Iowa.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 1989, in the St. Matthew Lutheran Church at Mapleton, Iowa, with the Reverend Les Kimball officiating. The burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation was after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 1989, in the Walter Funeral Home at Mapleton, Iowa.

Mrs. Prokop, the former Lillie Storjohann, was born on December 25, 1908, to Carl and Alma (Olsen) Storjohann in Goodrich Township, Crawford County, near Denison, Iowa. She graduated from the Denison High School in 1926 and taught rural school in Crawford and Woodbury Counties. She married Perri Wood on June 14, 1937, in Sioux City, Iowa. They lived a number of years in Nebraska and then in Smithland, Iowa. She married Clair Prokop on December 18, 1948, in Council Bluffs. Iowa, and farmed in the Kingsley and Battle Creek, Iowa, vicinities. In 1973, they retired and moved into Mapleton, Iowa.

Mrs. Prokop was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church and the Mary Circle of the church.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Raymond; and one sister, Isabel Beymer.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Dean Wood of Laurel, Maryland, Vern Wood of Denison, Iowa, and Randy Prokop of Peru, Indiana; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Julia) Jensen and Mrs. William (Elvera) Wight, both of Denison, Iowa; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were John Collins, Paul Kinney, Don Ladwig, Walter Collins, Roger Ingram, and John Brockman.
