PIONEER MOTHER IS CALLED HOME.
MRS. MARY PRICE FOR OVER 47 YEARS A RESIDENT OF
THIS COUNTY

Passed Away at her home in Lincoln Township on Sunday, November 16th—Funeral Held on Wednesday November 18, 1924

Mary Francis, daughter of Abel and Mary Jackson was born in Henderson County, Illinois, March 5th 1846. Here she grew to young Womanhood and on February 2, 1871 she was married to Wm. T Price who removed with her to Western Iowa, where they resided for a short time after which they returned again to Illinois for a few years.

In 1879 they again returned to Monona County, where the deceased has since resided. She was converted and united with the Christian church at Lossing, Ia. about 30 years ago. She was an affectionate wife, a loving mother and was never too weary to minister to the needs and wants of others. In sickness and sorrow she was ever ready to lend a helping hand.

The husband, two sons and one daughter preceded her to the great beyond, the husband passing away March 22, 1904, one son Agle in March 1908, Ora in January 1917 Mrs. Nola Grant who died February 1920.

She leave to mourn the loss of a kind loving mother, Mrs. Ella Welsh of Kimsley, Kans.; Addo Terry of Salida, Colo.; Mamie Faison of Onawa, Kate Billings, Henry and Harry Price at home an all of whom were at her bedside when she passed away.

Besides the children she leaves 24 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren ,one sister and a host of friends to mourn her loss.

Those who attended the funeral from abroad were Mrs. Dallie Jackson of Bigsville, Ill.; Mrs. Nettie Graham of Pacific Junction, Iowa; these two ladies were sisters-in-law to the deceased. Mr. and Mrs. James. Davis of Grinnell, Iowa, a granddaughter to Mrs. Price; Mrs. Phillips and two children of Sioux City and Mrs. Ida Doran of Sioux City, Earnest Grant of Sergeant Bluffs, Iowa, Mrs. Elmer Folsom of Modale, Iowa.

The deceased was stricken with paralysis Nov 11, the entire right side being affected, although retain consciousness most of the time until her death, she was unable to speak. Everything that loving hands could do was done for her comfort but she passed away on November 16. The funeral services were held Wednesday in the community building in charge of Rev. Talley Chrstian, Minister of Onawa with interment in the Harrison cemetery.
