Well Known Onawa Mother Passes Away

Mrs. Lillie Mae Price was born January 29, 1883 in Belvidere township, Iowa. She. was the daughter of Eliza and Joshua Adair. Death came in the Onawa hospital on Friday evening February 1, 1952 at the age of 69 years.

She moved with her parents to Decatur, Nebraska when a small child. On April 5 1898 she was united in marriage with Edwin Price. To this union 12 children were born; one child preceded her in death. The couple moved to Onawa in 1906 and have been residents of this community since that date. She was an active member of the First Christian church of Onawa.

Survivors are her widower, 7 sons, Clarence E. of Sioux City; Elmer, F. of Kansas City, Mo.; Marvin J. and Paul C. both of Orson, Iowa; Garnet L and Eddie A. both of Omaha, Nebr.; and Arthur S. of Logan, Iowa; 4 daughters, Mrs. Rachael Johnson of Sioux City. Mrs. Muriel Ryken, of Sioux Falls, S. D.; Mrs. Virginia England, Enfaula, Okla.; and Mrs. Harriett Monico, of Omaha, Nebraska; A sister, Mrs. Mary Rodgers of Decatur; 3 brothers, Will Adair of Decatur; and Walter and Ralph Adair, both of Macy, Nebr. There are 36 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.

A few years ago the couple had the privilege of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Death has taken a good Christian woman from our midst.

She was a devoted wife, a kind and loving mother and grand mother, and a real friend to all.

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 4th at 2:30 p. m., at the First Christian church in Onawa with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating.

Mrs. Margaret Gray Sang, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" accompanied at the organ by Miss Connie Olsen.

Bearers were E. E. Arney, Bill Funkhouser, Walter Shearer William Barnard, Alfred Butcher and Ray Taylor. Interment was in the Harrison cemetery at Whiting with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home.
