MAPLETON, Iowa — Virginia Prell, 57, of Fulton, Ky., formerly of Mapleton, died Sunday after a lengthy illness.

Services Wednesday in the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton. The Rev. Dennis Schultz, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, will officiate. Burial will be in the Little Sioux Cemetery at Smithland.

Mrs. Prell, the former Virginia Schmidt, was born Oct. 25, 1925, at Arthur. She was raised in the Ida Grove Community and graduated from high school there. She lived in the midwest until 1955 when she moved to Mountian View, Calif. where she was credit manager for the Ferry Morse Seed Co.

She married Albert Prell Sept. 21, 1957, in California. He died June 21, 1976. She transferred with her company to Fulton, Ky., in May of 1982.

Mrs. Prell was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Union City, Ky.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Killough of Omaha and Craig Schmidt of Clarence; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schmidt of Council Bluffs; one sister, Mrs. LaDonna Rhodes of Orange County, Calif. and three grarachildiren.
