Paul Prell, 47, of Ute, died unexpectedly Friday, July 18, 1997, at his residence near Ute.

Services were held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 22 at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa, with the Rev. Edmund Tiedeman officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Prell was born September 1, 1949, near Battle Creek, Iowa, the son of Henry and Anna (Wimmer) Prell. He was raised in the Ricketts and Danbury, Iowa areas. He married Norma Kruse on November 1982. He was farming in the Ute area for the Mordhorst hog farm operation.

Survivors include a son Terry of Phoenix, Arizona, his mother of Danbury, four brothers, John of Lubbock, Texas, Fred of Mapleton, Iowa, Larry of Cherokee, Iowa, and Gary of Mapleton; a sister, Mary Prell of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Ray; and a sister, Nancy.
