David John Speer 1939 - 2005

David John Speer was born on October 8, 1939, in Winterset, Iowa. He died on June 18, 2005 in Rowlett, Texas. His parents were Robert V. Speer and Irene F. Tuchek Speer, both who precede David in death. He has two sisters, Dorothy Burg and twin Donna Nalewaja who reside in Osakis, MN.

In 1957, he entered the U.S. Marine Corp and was honorably discharged in 1959. He trained as a Medical Technologist in Minneapolis and took his first position at Burgess Memorial Hospital, Onawa, Iowa. There he met Donna L. Noble, and on June 6, 1964, married at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Blencoe, Iowa. Donna survives this union.

The surviving children are: Jane Dvorak, Rowlett, TX, Pat Lancaster, Horace, ND, Adam Speer, Phillips, WI, Carrie Speer, Fargo, ND, and three grandchildren.

After year of education and David's completion of a Master of Arts in Science Education he taught Chemistry at Thomas Jefferson H.S. in the inner city of Dallas, Texas. He often said it was his greatest challenge and most rewarding position in his life.

David died peacefully in the hands of the Holy Trinity at his home in Rowlett, Texas. The funeral will be held in Onawa, Iowa, at St. John's Catholic Church July 2, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. and the burial will be in Graceland Cemetery near
Blencoe, Iowa.
