4 June 2014Ruth Ann Sick, 61, of Harlan, Iowa formerly of Onawa and Le Mars, Iowa, died Friday, May 23, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Harley Johnson, officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Rush Family Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Ruth Ann was born July 20, 1952 in Le Mars, Iowa the daughter of Carl William and Betty (Downing) Ahrendt. She grew up in Le Mars and attended the Le Mars Community School where she graduated in 1970. Ruth then attended and graduated from the Le Mars Beauty School. She resided in Le Mars and Onawa, Iowa for most of her life.
Ruth loved spending time with her family, especially her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed reading, plants, and flowers. Ruth treasured mementos and keepsakes from her life.
Survivors include her children, Angie (Shawn Swanger) McGraine of Persia, Iowa, Melissa (Louie) Flint of Spangdahlem, Germany, Bradley (Melody) Wheeler of Salix, Iowa, Rachel (Jimmy Sticco) Conrad of Saddle Brook, New Jersey, and John Sick of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, Lily Flint, Louie Flint, Madisyn Sick, Cameron Sick, Waylon Swanger, Gracie Wheeler, Colton Wheeler, and Cullen Wheeler; a sister, Linda (Jim) Goltry of Newport News, Virginia; two brothers, Richard Ahrendt of Le Mars, Iowa and Steve Ahrendt of Le Mars, Iowa; and special friends, Mike Ryan and Patty Cotter.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
