Sister Ronald Dirksen, age 96, of Dubuque passed away December 26, 2007 in the 80th year of her religious life.

Mass of Christian burial was held 1 p.m. Monday, December 31 at Mount St. Francis in Dubuque with Father Ronald Friedell officiating.

Albina Dirksen was born in Mapleton, Iowa, May 21, 1911 to Joseph and Barbara Theobald Dirksen. She attended grade school at St. Mary's in Mapleton and high school was at St. Francis High in Dubuque after she joined the community. At reception into the congregation on June 21, 1928 Albina became Sister Ronald. She began her ministry as an elementary teacher at several Iowa schools.

She is survived by her sisters, Anna Oberreuter of Battle Creek, Louise Sanders of Mapleton and Mary Arney; her sister-in-law, Rita Dirksen of Danbury and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings and their spouses: Pauline (Pearl) and Joseph Dickman; Clara and Paul Schleimer; Edmund and Silvina Dirksen; George and Margaret Dirksen; Joseph Oberreuter; Rosina and DeWitt Miller; Leo and Mary Dirksen; Leonard Dirksen; Joseph Dirksen; Robert Sanders; Ronald and Shirley Dirksen; and Max Arney.
