21 May 2014John Samuel Gray, 48, of Onawa, IA died May 6, 2014 at University Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi after a brief illness.
John was born June 13, 1965 in Sioux City. While growing up, he attended Webster Elementary School, S.C. West Junior High, and later Whiting Comm. School.
John married Cheri Heck on April 1, 1991. They had 2 children, Kellie and John. They later divorced.
He was employed by several different tower communication companies throughout the U.S. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a friend to everyone. He loved spending time with his children.
Survivors include a daughter Kellie Gray (Cody Dittmer) of Onawa; sons John J. Gray and Korbin Gray of Onawa; parents Alvin and Betty (Scott) Gray of Whiting; brothers Mark (Diana) Gray of Milton, KY, Ken (Missy) Gray of Battle Creek; sisters Caroline (Mark) Morgan of Onawa, Laurie (Jeff) Mordhorst of Ute, Sara Gray of Onawa and many other nieces, nephews and family members.
John was preceded in death by paternal grandparents John R. and Eunice Gray and maternal grandparents Samuel and Opal Scott and a brother Stephen Gray.
Memorial Services will be held May 24th at 10:30 a.m. at the United Pentecostal Church in Onawa, Iowa with fellowship at the Soldier Community Building, Soldier, IA afterwards.
