J. Wilson Crawford and Priscilla L. W. Crawford

J. Wilson Crawford, 92, of Geneseo, IL, died Wednesday, February 28, 2001, at Hammond-Henry Hospital in Geneseo.

Priscilla Lieberknecht White Crawford, 94, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at Good Samaritan Village in Geneseo.

Joint services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2001, a Myers Chapel, Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services in Geneseo with Rev. Dr. Robert R. Bottoms officiating. Priscilla was interred in Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo.

Graveside services for the cremains of J. Wilson Crawford will be held at 3:00 p.m. on March 15, 2001, at the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor John Noer officiating. There will be no visitation. Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa is in charge of arrangements.

Wilson Crawford was born October 11, 1908, in Whiting, Iowa, the son of Roy and Grace (McBeath) Crawford. He graduated from Whiting High School and attended Iowa State University at Ames. On May 12, 1942 he married Maribel Newby in Onawa, IA. She died November 7, 1975, in Tucson, AZ. He was a Quarter Master in the 8th Air Corps in England from 1942 to 1945. He was a member of the American Legion Post 481 of Whiting, Iowa. After WW II he was employed by Tucson Plumbing Supply Company.

He married Priscilla Lieberknecht White in Boulder, CO, on March 17, 1977. For many years Wilson and Priscilla would spend the summer in Geneseo and the winter in Green Valley, AZ. In later years they made their year round home in Geneseo.

The former Priscilla Lieberknecht was born February 18, 1907, in Geneseo to Charles and Helen Antes Lieberknechf. She attended Geneseo schools, graduating from Geneseo Township High School in 1925. She graduated from Grinnel College, Grinnel, IA in 1929.

On June 17, 1933, in Geneseo, she married George Miller White of Newman, IL. He died in February 1952. On March 17, 1977, she married Wilson Crawford in Boulder, CO. He died February 28, 2001. For many years Priscilla and Wilson
would spend the summer in Geneseo and the winter in Green Valley, AZ. In later years they made Geneseo their year round home.

Mrs. Crawford taught school in Onawa, IA; Beatrice, NE; and Geneseo schools. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Geneseo where she had served as trustee and Sunday school teacher. She served on the Girl Scout Council in Beatrice and the P.T.A. Council in Geneseo. She was a member of the Geneseo Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Charter Member of the Geneseo Historical Society.

Mr. Crawford is survived by a step-daughter, Helen White Norton, Boulder, CO; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maribel.
