Miriam P. Shain, 88, of Clewiston, FL, formerly of Mapleton, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, in Clewiston.

Services were at 8:15 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2001 at Clewiston St. Margaret's Catholic Church.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2001 at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton with Rev. Edmund Tiedeman officiating.

Miriam Patricia, the daughter of Timothy and Nettie (Hollister) O'Connell was born on October 9, 1912, at Rodney, Iowa. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Survivors include a niece, Sharon C. Collins, one great nephew, David F. Collins and one great niece, Sydney C. Cameron, all of Clewiston, FL and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery with arrangements by Armstrong Funeral Services.
