MRS. EMILY PEABODY

A pioneer resident of Monona county, Mrs. Emily Peabody, 93, died Monday night in her home at Whiting, Ia., of the infirmities of age.

Mrs. Peabody went to Whiting, settling on a farm, in 1870, and had lived there since. She had been active until the time of her death and was widely known as a worker, in the auxiliary of the G. A. R.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Whiting Congregational church. Rev. Raymond Swisher will officiate and burial will be in a Whiting cemetery.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Charles Worrell of Whiting,, and Mrs. J. C. Carritt of Bentley, Alberta, Can., 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a great-great -grandchild
