ONAWA, Iowa | Hannah Kay Stier, 18, of Onawa, formerly of Sloan, Iowa, died Monday, May 19, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Westwood Community High School in Sloan, with the Rev. Richard Moore officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery, rural Turin, Iowa. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Westwood Community High School. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Hannah Kay was born on Nov. 5, 1995, in Sioux Center, Iowa, the daughter of Jeffrey and Mary (Thorp) Stier. She attended Westwood Community School while living with her parents, Mary and Shanon McDonald. She graduated with the class of 2014 on Sunday, May 18, 2014, from Westwood Community High School. She was employed with McDonald's in Onawa. Hannah was sworn into the U.S. Air Force in August 2013 and volunteered for six years of active duty service. She was scheduled to start basic training in September 2014.

Hannah enjoyed hunting, scuba diving, boating, camping, softball, track, and volleyball. Hannah had such an amazing art talent.

Survivors include her parents, Mary (Shanon) McDonald of Onawa, and Jeff (Mayra Farias) Stier of Mesa, Ariz.; grandparents, Darrell Thorp of Sioux City, Judy (Mark) Duncan of Papillion, Neb., Mark McDonald of Castana, Iowa, Kathy (Donald) Foster of Blencoe, Iowa, and David (Judy) Stier of Sioux City; great-grandparents, Darlene Kamm of Sioux City, and Raymond (Lila) Thorp of Sioux City; her boyfriend, Chase Turner of Moville, Iowa; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Mary Thorp; great-grandfather, Leroy Kamm; and great-grandparents, Harold (Margaret) Gllickson and Ada (Howard) Stier
