Mrs. Lurena Oliver Templeton

Mrs. Lurena B. Oliver was born Jan. 29, 1858 in Onawa, Iowa.

With the exception of a few months in which she lived in Bancroft, Nebr. she has spent her entire life in this city.

She was united in marriage July 30th, 1876 to William J. Templeton. To this union seven children were born, all of whom are still living. Mabel McClure of Portland, Ore.; Ben of Portland Ore.; Will of Onawa; Alice Moad of Whiting, la.; John of Whiting. la.; Lila Lindbloom of Stanford, Nebr. and Martha Shook of Sioux City.

Mrs. Templeton departed this life on Wednesday Oct. 28th, 1925 aged 61 years.

For thirty-five years she has been one of the stalwart, consistent members of the Congregational church of this town; she was loyal to all of its interests, and faithful in the work of the Kingdom of Christ.

Her life was a quiet unobtrusive life, and yet one that was always for the highest and best thought in the town, she loved so well.

A good mother, a noble citizen, a sturdy pioneer, has gone to her rest. One of the sturdy pioneer mothers the county who has spent a whole life in its development. She has left her children and grandchildren, the best heirloom that anyone can leave a good name and genuine character.

"She being dead, yet speaketh". Her beautiful Christ like character will continue to bless the world, in its uplifting influence, even though her body may be in the grave.

Funeral services ware held in the Congregational church conducted by the Rev. G. H. Croker of Whiting. Comfort was rendered in song by a quartette with Mrs. Glenn Danforth at the Pipe organ.

Interment was in the Onawa cemetery.
