Ellen Elizabeth Terry was born February 5, 1888 in Harrison, county and passed from this life, at her home in Harrison county January 20. Death came quietly. She had reached the age of 79 years.

December 23, 1908 she was united in marriage with Marion F. Terry at Onawa. To this union, three children were born. Mr. Terry preceded her in death several years ago.

Early in life she accepted the Christ as her Savior and was baptized in the Christian Church at Liberty City, Mo. She later transferred her membership to the Church of Christ at Little Sioux. She also became a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Liberty City and then transferred to Little Sioux. She was a 60 year member of the Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include her two sons, Millard F. Terry of Sioux City and Eldon E. Terry of Blencoe; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Myra) E. Jacobson of Omaha, Neb., seven grandchildren; five great - grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Eva (Louis) Hansen of Onawa.

She had lived on the same farm for 56 years.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p. m. Monday, January 23 at the First Christian Church in Onawa with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. Claudia Harris sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Abide With Me" with Mrs. Oliver Kelley as organist.

Honorary bearers were John Harms, Mike Marley, Carl Erickson, John Reynolds, Fred Jacobson and Ed Reynolds. Active bearers were Bill Reynolds, Glen Cowan, Don Poole, Bob Comfort, Newell Keele and John Ryan.

Interment was in the Onawa cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson funeral home.
