Monona County Gazette
21 April 1898

Grandma Yeomans, as she was known to her many friends, died at her home last week Thursday (April 14th) night of paralysis. She was a great sufferer for six weeks but was well cared for by Mrs. Thompson of Missouri Valley, a sister of her son's wife and the last two weeks, Rob Persons, who the old lady thought as much of as her own children, assisted in care for her. Mrs. Vine Yeomans as a native of New York state. She came west to Onawa about ten years ago. She was eighty four years old. She leaves two children, Hon. J.D. Yeoman of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. J. E. Bishop of Alamos, Calf.

The funeral was held at her home Saturday afternoon. A service was conducted by Rev. McNamara with singing by Misses Ashton and Paine. It was at first thought to have the remains taken to East Aurora, New York, her od home for interment but was finally decided for good reason to lay them at rest in the Onawa Cemetery, for what does it matter where the body is if the soul is at rest in the glory land.
