Mrs. Josephine Tees Died Near Wing, N. D.,
Mon., March 27

Josephine Gray was born in Kamoka, Canada, July 10, 1866. She came with her parents by train to DeWitt, Iowa, and then by ox-car to Onawa in 1871.

$he grew up on a farm west of Onawa, and later attended the Onawa public schools, graduating in 1885, In 1892 she was married to Thomas Tees of Blencoe, Ia. They made their home in Sioux City until 1904, when they moved to Wing, North, Dakota. They were pioneers in this new country, and helped to plan in the building of schools, roads, churches and Sunday Schools. Mr. Tees died in 1915, and a daughter Josephine, passed away three weeks later. Mrs. Tees was treasurer of her home school district for twenty years.

She was a woman of strong character, exemplary habits and with strong and practical religious convictions. She made herself felt in the communities where she lived, especially upon moral issues. The sincerity of her Christianity was evident in all her deeds.

Three children survive: James S., Wing, North Dakota; Mrs. Harry Farnham, Arthur, North Dakota; and Arthur L., of Buchanan, North Dakota.

Mrs. Tees passed away, at her farm home near Wing. N. D., Monday, March 27th. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church in Wing, March 28, and at the Cheney Mortuary in Onawa, Thursday forenoon, March 30, with Rev. G. D., Serrill in charge. Burial was in the Onawa cemetery beside her husband and daughter.
