Daisy Chapman Templeton was born June 12, 1881, near Blencoe, Iowa, and passed from this life at the Onawa Hospital on October 29, 1960, after a brief illness. She was 79 years of age at the time of her passing.
She was one of ten children born to her pioneer parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harve Chapman. She was united in marriage on January 8, 1902, at Onawa, Iowa, to William J. Templeton. To this union were born three daughters and three sons.
She was a lifelong member of the Congregational Church and for many years a member of the D.A.R. Society.
Survivors include the widower, William J. Templeton, and the children, Mrs. Henry Johnston of Castana, Ia., Mrs. Kenneth G. Oxley of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Hugh. Calderwood of Traer, Iowa, Floyd M. of Laramie, Wyo., and Lewis W. of Whiting, Ia.; a sister, Mrs. Jennie Hinsdale of Artesia, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
One son, Forres G., preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 1st at the Onawa Congregational Church with Rev. C. E. Hanan, her pastor officiating. Evan Davies sang "The 23rd Psalm" and "The Lord's Prayer", accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Marie Danforth.
Pallbearers: Walter Bedford, Carl Crom, Ed Fors, Leo Hansen, Maurice Jensen and William Oliver. Interment was in the Onawa cemetery.
