Joseph F. Uhl, 77, Indian Hills Care Center of Sioux City, August 10, 1991, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services were at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Cathedral of the Epiphany, with the Rev. Alfred E. McCoy officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation was between 5 - 9 p.m. Monday, with a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Mr. Uhl was born November 29, 1913, in Mapleton, Iowa, the son of Casper and Bertha Uhl.

He married Caroline A. Treiber, February 28, 1938, in Danbury, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Danbury/Mapleton area for many years and moved to Sioux City in 1973. Mrs. Uhl died October 31, 1982, in Sioux City.

Mr. Uhl was a member of the Cathedral of the Epiphany.

Survivors Include two daughters, Janice Krueger of West Point, Nebraska, and Karen Uhl of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Loren, Kenneth, Kevin and Lori Krueger; a sister, LaVera White of Boulder, Montana, a half sister, Helen Hupke of Ida Grove, Iowa; and four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Pauline Jochims and Mrs. Bernice Treiber of Danbury, Iowa, Mrs. Esther Uhl, Onawa, Iowa and Mrs. Alice Ryan of Ancadia, California.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Casper, Jesse, Russel and Clifford Uhl; a half brother, Henry Ryan; a half sister, Cecelia Kragel and a granddaughter Sheril Kay Krueger.
