Orville A. Uhl, 73, 2429 Williams Avenue, died Sunday, March 1, 1992, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services were at 10:30 a.m., Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton, with the Rev. John Brennan officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation was after 2:00 p.m. March 4, with a vigil wake service at 8:00 p.m., at Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mr. Uhl was born February 23, 1919, in Mapleton, the son of Fred and Emma (Hamman) Uhl. He farmed in the Mapleton community until retiring to Sioux City in 1975.

Survivors include a brother and his wife, Melvin and Evelyn Uhl of Onawa, Iowa; three nephews and their wives, Richard and Jennie Voss, Ronald and Jeanne Uhl and Terry and Devera Uhl; and three nieces, Sharon and her husband, Dave Mesker, Glennis and her husband, Bill Schneider and Cindy Gilbert.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard; and a sister, Ruby Voss Anderson.

Pallbearers were Richard Voss, Henry Hamman, Ronald Uhl, Terry Uhl, John Hamman and Delmond Scheer.
