DANBURY, Iowa — Louis T. Uhl, 90, of Danbury died Wednesday, June 5, 1991, at a hospital in Ida Grove.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury with the Rev. James Tigges officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Mapleton. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in
Mapleton.

Mr. Uhl was born June 1 , 1900, near Smithland, the son of William and Mary (Schoenherr) Uhl. He grew up in the Smithland community. On Jan. 2, 1929, he married Rose Marie Stodden in Mapleton.

The couple farmed near Bronson and moved to Sioux City in 1934. They lived in Sioux City 15 years and then moved to a farm in the Climbing Hill and Oto area. In 1984 they moved into Danbury. Mrs. Uhl died Dec. 18, 1987.

Mr. Uhl was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, James of Vergas, Minn., and Richard of Lawton; five daughters, Mrs. George (Mary) Harrington of Sioux City, Mrs. Robert (Angie) Jones and Mrs. Allan (Carolyn) Van Voorst, both of Smithland, Mrs. Donald (Patricia) Petersen of Vergas, Minn., and Mrs. Gloria Snyder of Sanborn; two brothers, Edward of South Sioux City and Leo of Sioux City; 42 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald, five brothers and four sisters.
