8 February 2014SOLDIER, Iowa | Leo Eldon Thompson, 92, of Gilroy, Calif., formerly of Soldier, died Jan. 30, 2014.
Services were held Friday in California. Arrangements are with Habings Funeral Home in Gilroy.
Leo was born Feb. 21, 1921.
He was in the Navy Sea Bees during World War II.
Leo drove truck for many years and made many friends along the way.
Survivors include his sons, Larry (Susan), Gary (Nancy) and Randy (Donna); daughter, Kristy (Terry) Pitts; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild soon to be born; and dear friends, Chuck and Bev Watson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine; parents, Angie and Mable; brother, Bud; sister, Marge; and granddaughter, Genee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Wounded Warriors Foundation.
