Mildred E. Clemon, 92, Onawa, Iowa died Sunday, May 29, 2005 at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.

Mildred was born January 27, 1913 at Soldier, Iowa, the daughter of Olius and Minnie (Erickson) Clemon. She was raised and attended country school in the Soldier area. Later she had classes and training as a dental assistant and worked over 50 years for Dr. Hopkins, Dr. Reinke and Dr. Meis in Onawa. She also cared for her parents until the death of her 99 year old mother.

Mildred was very active in Trinity Lutheran Church (presently Faith Lutheran Church) in Onawa where she was superintendent of Sunday School over 25 years, belonged to the evening circle and participated in Youth Bible camps. She was also a member of BPW and Iowa Dental Assistants where she held several offices and attended many conventions.

Survivors include a sister, Lucille Leeper of Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting; twenty-one nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews and many great - great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Olius and Minnie Clemon; four brothers, Vernon, Lyle, Russell and Myrland; a niece, Arlene Leeper and a special friend, Emil Lorenzen.

Funeral services were 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Faith Lutheran Church at Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Steven Hetzel officiating. The congregation sang "Jesus Loves Me", "Beautiful Savior" and "God Be With You, Till We Meet Again" with Mardell Brown pianist. Burial was in Soldier Lutheran Cemetery, Soldier, Iowa. Visitation was 4:00-8:00 PM Tuesday with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service at Rush Family Care Service, Onawa.

Casket bearers were Mildred's nephews and honorary bearers were her nieces.
