Grace Margaret Dorothy, daughter of George Wilhelm and Margaret Jane (Conroy) Winter, was born May 19, 1892, at Tampico, Whiteside, Illinois and died January 27, 1960 at Adelphi, Maryland.

She moved with her parents to Holstein, Iowa at the age of 9, where attended school. Later she taught there in the rural schools of Holstein until her marriage.

She was married to James Porter Dorothy on February 6, 1917, at Schaller, Iowa. This union was blessed with three children. After marriage she and her husband moved to Ute where she lived for the remainder of her life except for the last year which she spent with her children in Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb 11, 1952.

Mrs. Dorothy was a postal clerk in the Ute Post Office from 1943 until 1959. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and St. Mary's Altar Society.

She reached the age of 67 years, 8 months and 8 days, and was preceded in death besides her husband by her parents, one sister and one brother.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. William (Mary Margaret) Niemann of Clarksville, Maryland, two sons, James Robert Dorothy, Baltimore, Md. and Joseph Winter Dorothy, Adelphi, Md, one brother, John Conroy Winter of Silver Springs, Md., and nine grandchildren.

Rosary was recited at 8:00 p. m. Sunday at the Walter Chapel.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 29, 1960, at St. Louis Catholic church at 10 a. m. Clarksville, Maryland, Father McGowan officiated. Graveside services were held Monday, February 1, at St. Mary's cemetery under direction of Walter Funeral home. Father R. E. Nemmers officiated.

Pallbearers were Paul Flynn, James Flynn, Floyd Shipley, Judson Yelsma, Raymond Pithan and Nick Elias.
