Robert Leslie Willson, 65, from Rockford, IL passed away April 20, 2011, at the Park Strathmoor Nursing Home.

Born June 30, 1945 at the hospital in Battle Creek, the son of Donald and Bernice Willson of Mapleton. He graduated from the Mapleton High School in 1963.

He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran and an honorary Seabee, and a former member of the Navy Club.

He married Cindy Mongan on June 6, 1970 at the Lighthouse Church in Daysville. Employed by Rockford Powertrain (GKN) as a machinist for 32 years. Bob was a friendly man who enjoyed people and never met a stranger. He was a Cubs and Packer fan and enjoyed NASCAR and basketball.

He loved to garden and had great pride in his lawn, that he was very particular about. He was a fan of the Cherry Valley Café where he met with friends and lunch buddies. Robert was an avid collector of toy tractors, especially Farmalls.

Survived by his wife, Cindy; daughters, Jane (Jason) Clevenger and Jodi (Jerry II) Severson; grandchildren, Logan and Lukas Clevenger and LeAnn and Landoon Severson: Mother Bernice Willson.

Proceeded in death by his father and grandparents.
Bob's Memorial service was held at 10 a.m., April 25, 2011. Bob's memorials can be to the family.
