Willard "Pat" Patrick;' 85

Willard "Pat" Patrick passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 2nd at the age of 85. He was a native of Mapleton, Iowa, where he was a star basketball player.

After serving in the Marine Corps in WWII, he returned to Mapleton and owned and operated the Mapleton Dairy. In 1959 he moved to S. San Francisco, and later moved to Monterey where he owned the Super Save Market for 20 years, and ended his involvement with he grocery business as manager of Monte Vista Market. During that time he acted as kicking coach for Monterey Peninsula College.

In 2000 he an Gay moved to Lincoln Hills where Pat served as a board member on the Sports Authority, the Veterans Assn. and the Men's Golf group.

Pat enjoyed all sports, and was an avid 49'er and Oakland A's fan. He was most proud of his service to his country, and a proud member of the Semper Fi Association of Lincoln, and you could find him most every afternoon at the fitness center of Orchard Creek Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Gay, and they would have celebrated their 64th anniversary this October.

Other survivors are: his daughter, Kim, her husband, David Kannely, David's two daughters, Gretchen and Heather and their husbands and children; two sisters, Arlene and Evelyn; and 20 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, John, brother, S.J., and sister, Elvera, and his parents, Joe and Maggie.

Memorial service was, held at the Lincoln Methodist Church on Thursday, June 9, at 1:00 p.m. Internment will be at a later date at the Veteran's National Cemetery in Dixon.
