2 January 2014Mary Ardith Ward Osborne died Dec. 7 in Houston, Texas. Mary was born on May 4, 1923, in York, Neb.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Frank E. and Maud V. Ward, her husband of 50 years John R. (Bob).
She is survived by sons John R. Jr. and Richard H., grandchildren Travis T., Trevor H., and Robert L. and great-grandchildren Cody A. and Chloe R.
Mary grew up and graduated high school in Mapleton. After graduating from York Business School, Mary worked in San Francisco, Calif., and Chicago, Ill. She married during Work War II and after moved with her husband to Lincoln, Neb., where she lived with her growing family for 16 years. Mary moved with her family to Houston, Texas, in 1961 following her husband’s career.
Mary attended St. Phillip’s United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. She was active in the League of Women Voters; the Braeburn Women’s Club and was an avid bridge player. Mary enjoyed gardening with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There will not be a service at Mary’s request.
