DONA ROSE PERRY

Dona Rose Perry, 67, Blencoe, Iowa, died Thursday, December 24, 1987, at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

She was born May 13, 1920, at Little Sioux, Iowa, to Clifford “Fay” and Mary (Lightwine) Crabb. Her mother died when she was a child and her stepmother, Zora Crabb raised her. She graduated from Blencoe High School in 1938 and received her teaching certificate from Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught school from 1940 for two or three years. On July 3, 1942, she married Earl D. Perry at Temple, Texas. They moved back to Blencoe in 1943. She worked at the C & P Market in Blencoe from 1955 to 1965.

She was a member of the U.C.C. Congregational Church in Blencoe and was active in the Women’s Fellowship of the Church. She was also a member of the Blencoe Study Club.

Survivors include her husband, Earl; three sons, Jim and his wife, Gayle, of Houston, Texas, L. D. and his wife, Terry, of St. Joseph, Mo. and Craig of Blencoe; four grandchildren, Ryan, Michael, Cara and Regan; one brother, Bill Crabb of Cincinnati, Ohio; and two sisters, Charlene Niles of Pisgah and Myrna Sell of Fresno, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepmother.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 1987, at U.C.C. Congregational, Blencoe, Iowa, with Rev. Donald Stoll officiating. The organist was Mrs. Gene Carlson and the soloist, Mrs. Fred Gibson, sang “New 23rd Psalm” and “In the Garden”. Casket bearers were Thomas Carritt, James Howshultz, Vernon Rock, John Hubert, Harlan Lightwine and Mike Carson.

Interment was in the Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
