Services held August 25 for 1961 MV graduate Mark A. Dimig of Sacramento, California, formerly of Mapleton died Thursday, August 9, 2007 in Sacramento after a long illness.

Memorial services were held 4 p.m. Saturday, August 25, at the family home in Sacramento.

Mark was born on May 16, 1943 in Sioux City, Iowa. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Danbury, Iowa, through his junior year, graduated from Maple Valley High School in Mapleton in 1961 and graduated from International Tabulating Institute in Los Angeles, California in 1964.

He was manager of Operations and Technical Support at UCLA in Los Angeles, and Allied Signal in Phoenix, Arizona, and owned a heating and refrigeration service company with his brother, Mike in North Hollywood, California. The family moved to Sacramento in 1997, where Mark was employed by Check In To Cash. He retired in 2003 due to ill health and devoted his time to his family, neighbors, garden and dog, Cisco. Mark married Verlie Elizabeth Crawford on September 5, 1964 and the couple had three children, Theresa, Stephen and Mark Robert. He married Carolyn Goodall Chamberlain on May 24, 1981.

Mark is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his daughter, Theresa and son-in-law, Jay Straede and grandchildren, Taylor, Justin, Chaseon and Elizabeth of Gridley, California; his son, Stephen and daughter-in-law, Holly and granddaughters, Hillary and Emma of Youngsville, North Carolina; his twin brother, Michael E Dimig and sister-in-law, Shirley of Citrus Heights, California; nephew Bryan and his wife, Kimberly and their daughters, Amanda and Sarah of Sacramento; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Viola Dimig; brother, Robert Lee Dimig, and son, Mark Robert Dimig.

Donations may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or towards a drinking fountain for people and dogs in the local neighborhood park.
