SOLDIER, Iowa | LeRoy Stevens, 83, of Soldier died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at the Dunlap Care Center in Dunlap, Iowa.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Soldier Lutheran Church in Soldier. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Dunlap. Visitation with the family present will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine, Iowa.

LeRoy worked for Monona County for many years on the bridge crew and as a maintainer operator.

He is survived by two children, Maynard (Marilyn) Stevens of Lawrence, Kan., and Cathy (Joel) Shanahan of Ute, Iowa; and two brothers, Robert (Patti) Stevens of Stanton, Iowa, and Harold (Rosemary) Stevens of Branson, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Stevens.
