BUDDY W. HUNTLEY, SR.

Buddy W. Huntley, Sr., 48, of Mapleton, Iowa, died Thursday, December 3, 1987, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Milwaukee after a long illness.

Mr. Huntley was born June 18, 1938, in Onawa, Iowa. He married Bonnie Parr in 1960 in Onawa. On January 18, 1964, he married Arlene Nichols at South Sioux City. He lived in Onawa, Hornick and Castana and rural Mapleton the last nine years. He was a machine operator for Chicago-Northwestern Railroad.

Mr. Huntley was a member of Faith Bible Church. He was a Navy veteran and was a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, having suffered injuries in an automobile accident in 1974.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Buddy, Jr. of Yukon, Okla., and Warren, Truman “TJ”, Thomas and Jonathan, all of Mapleton; a daughter, Mrs. Rhonda Kragel, of Castana; his mother, Mrs. Ida Huntley of Onawa; two brothers, Robert of Whiting and Ronnie of Onawa; two sisters, Mrs. Shirley Lee of Turin and Mrs. Honey Weis of Onawa; and three grandchildren.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 1987, in St. John’s United Methodist Church in Mapleton with Pastor Mark Smeltzer of Faith Bible Church of Mapleton officiating. Burial was in Belvidere Cemetery, near Turin with Walter Funeral Home of Mapleton in charge of arrangements.
