EMMA H. KLUVER

Emma H. Kluver, 88, of Mapleton died Tuesday, December 1, 1987 in a nursing home in Denison after a long illness.

Mrs. Kluver, the former Emma Hesse, was born March 8, 1899, in Kingsbury, Texas. She moved with her parents to the Battle Creek area and later moved to Schleswig. She married Carl J. Kluver June 10, 1920, in Schleswig. The couple farmed in the Mapleton, Schleswig and Charter Oak area, moving into Mapleton in 1964.

Mrs. Kluver was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ and the Women’s Guild.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Schillerberg of Denison; a son, Carl E. of Essex; a sister, Mrs. Erwin (Thekla) Schmidt of Rockville, Md.; seven grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Mapleton with the Rev. Richard Hempenius officiating. Burial was in Morgan Township Cemetery in Schleswig. Arrangements by Walter Funeral Home of Mapleton.
