BERNIECE L. WIMMER

Berniece L. Wimmer, 68, of Mapleton died Tuesday, December 1, 1987 at her home after a long illness.

Mrs. Wimmer, the former Berniece Strait,was born May 10, 1919, near Danbury and lived in the Ute and Soldier communities. She married Leo Wimmer June 24, 1942, in Dunlap. The couple farmed in the Dunlap area and moved to a farm near Anthon in 1958. In 1963 they moved to Mapleton.

Mrs. Wimmer was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Guild.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Marvin of Mapleton, Myron and James, both of Kingsley, and Cpl. Kelly with the Marines at Camp LeJeune, Jacksonville, N.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Maryann) Pierce of Plano, Texas and Mrs. Richard (Renee) Bellis of Blencoe; her mother, Mrs. Mabel Strait of Ute; a sister, Mrs. Mike (Virginia) Keating of Ute; two brothers, Melvin of Lennox and Marion of Ute; and ten grandchildren.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 5 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mapleton with the Rev. John Brennan officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Walter Funeral Home of Mapleton.
