CARRIE H. FREDRICKSON

Carrie h. Fredrickson, 83, Moorhead, Iowa, died Thursday, December 3, 1987, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa.

She was born November 25, 1904, in Belvidere Township, Monona County, Iowa, to Nels and Marie (Sorenson) Nikolaisen, and attended rural school there. On September 22, 1926, she married Arthur J. Fredrickson at Soldier. The couple farmed near Moorhead until 1970 when they moved into town. He died August 7, 1974, at Onawa. She had been a resident of Elmwood Nursing Home at Onawa since April 1987.

She was a member of the Ingeman Lutheran Church and later became affiliated with the Christian Church of Moorhead and was a member of Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America, Danish sisterhood 127 of Turin and Helping Hand Club.

Survivors include: one sister, Olga Peterson of Whiting; one brother, Bryan Nikolaisen of Danbury; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five sisters and two brothers.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 1987, at the Moorhead Christian Church with Rev. John McGee officiating. Mrs. Charles Kratz, the organist, accompanied Steve Johnson, who sang “How Great Thou Art” and “Beautiful Savior”.

Bearers were Clem Nikolaisen, Dan Peterson, David Fredrickson, Ray Hoffman, Paul Mann and Harold Swenson.

Interment was in Spring Valley Cemetery, Moorhead, Iowa, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
