VERYL L. BARR

Veryl L. Barr, 64, of Mapleton, died Sunday, November 8th of an apparent heart attack while visiting at the home of a relative in Mapleton.

Mr. Barr was born April 19, 1923, in Sioux City. He married Frances Plato October 24, 1952 in Correctionville.

The couple farmed four miles northwest of Mapleton and he also drove a school bus for the Maple Valley School for 21 years.

Mr. Barr was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and Monona County Saddle Club.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Kirk of Mapleton; a sister, Mrs. William (Beryl) Bollig of Sloughhouse, Calif.; and a cousin Everett Barr of Cedar Rapids, with whom he was raised.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 11th in St. John’s United Methodist Church in Mapleton with the Rev. Dick Krambeck officiating.

Burial was in St. Clair Cemetery in Ute. Arrangements by Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton.
