ADELE REIBER HIGH

Adele Reiber High, 95, of 218 N. First Ave., W., Duluth, Minnesota, died Thursday, October 1, 1987, in her home.

She was born in New York City, attended New York schools and graduated from Hunter College in 1914 with a degree in mathematics. She taught school in New York until her marriage and moved to Duluth in 1915. She was active in the United Baptist Christian Church of Duluth and later in the first Unitarian Church. She was also active in local and state PTAs, the World Peace Federation and groups concerned with conservation of natural resources. She served as president of the Minnesota Federation of PTAs in 1937-’38 and retired in 1961 as residence manager and executive director of the YWCA.

Her husband, Leslie, died previously.

She is survived by a son, Warren L. of Duluth; two daughters, Patricia Adele Zimmerman of Onawa, Ia. and Loretta Mae Ferrel of Powell River, British Columbia; seven grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Friday in first Unitarian Church. Burial was in Plainfield, N.J. Arrangements were by Johnson Mortuary.
