FLORENCE LENORE STRUBLE

Florence Lenore Struble, 87, of Onawa, died Saturday, October 17, 1987, in Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa after a brief illness.

She was born July 2, 1900, at Castana to George and Agnes (Smith) Holden. She married Wayne Ordway on May 29, 1918, in Castana. He died May 24, 1945, at Castana. On October 4, 1947, she married Park Struble in Council Bluffs. They made their home in Onawa.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, BPW, Castana Ladies Aid, Castana Thursday Club and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Past Noble Grand of the Elise Rebekah Lodge #222 and a member of the Women’s Relief Corp #41 and the Sunshine Birthday Club.

Survivors include: her husband, Park; one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Eileen) Topf of Sloan; one son, Charles W. “Bill” Ordway of Chino, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Pauline Perazzo of San Joes, Calif.; one stepson, Clarence Struble of San Jose, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 step great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 1987, at the first Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa, with Rev. Jerry Quandt officiating. The organist, Mrs. Jack Jordan, play “Beyond the Sunset” and “In the Garden”.

Casket Bearers were Larry Topf, Bernie Topf, Vince Topf, Mark Burns, Steve Cloud and Joe Baker.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.

A memorial has been established in her name with Onawa Kiwanis Foundation Scholarship Fund.
