MARGARET LAVONNE COOPER

Margaret Lavonne Cooper, 62, of Onawa, died Wednesday, October 7, 1987, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa.

She was born January 15, 1925, at Jackson, Nebraska, to William Edward and Martha Viola (Watkins) Bridgett. In 1944 she married Robert C. Campbell, Sr. at Sioux City. She married Jack Cooper, Sr. in 1963 in Oakland, California. She had lived in Sioux City where she was employed by Wincharger Corp. and had been a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph and St. Vincent hospitals. She then moved to Lisbon where she worked in a café from 1975 until moving to Onawa in 1983.

She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Onawa and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2270.

Survivors include two sons, Phillip Campbell of Holstein and Jack Cooper, Jr. of Bad Kissingen, West Germany; two daughters, LaVonne M. Dahl and Jodi Cooper Weidemann, both of Onawa; one brother, Glenn Bridgett of California; two sisters, Mina Mae Yates of Sioux City and Mildred Boltman of Hawarden; and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; one son, Robert Campbell, Jr.; and one daughter, Terry Campbell.

Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 1987, at the Onawa Cemetery with Monsignor Rickard Zenk officiating.

Bearers were Norman Dahl, Donald Dahl, Chuck Campbell, Charlie Brown, Jr., Jack Cooper, Jr. and David Lundin.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
