IN REMEMBRANCE

It is very difficult to say all the things about Mom in a few paragraphs that would tell the kind of person, sister, wife and mother she was. It would be impossible to explain how Jaynee and I felt about her.

She was born July 20, 1923, one of eight children of Bill and Lucy LeClair. She grew up during a period of time when times were not always the best. They were a close family.

She was married to Wilson Fiscus on August 15th, 1944. During this union they had three children, one son, Tom; two daughters, Carla, who preceded her in death in 1975, and Jaynee.

Most everyone Mom worked with, knew or met, were her friends. She was well liked and respected. One of the things we admired most about Mom was that she always said what was on her mind to a person’s face.

One of Mom’s most favorite things to do was camping. Before they moved to Fort Calhoun, they used to go every weekend and all of us kids would go along. She also loved to go mushroom hunting in the spring and work in her garden. She always planted too much, but enjoyed it. In the fall, along with Dad, she would listen to the Nebraska games at the Longhorn. It often got too noisy, so she brought her own radio to listen to. Everyone knew how avid a fan she was and they would root for the other team just to give her a hard time, especially Dad.

She was always the strength of our family and I hope Jaynee and I have the same strength she had. We miss her very much and will always love her.

Please, God, take good care of her. She deserves the best.

Love,
Jaynee and Tom
