OLIVE MABLE JACKSON

Olive Mable Jackson, 101, Sioux City, Iowa, formerly of Oto, Iowa, died Saturday, August 22, 1987, in Countryside Manor in Sioux City, after a long illness.

She was born January 16, 1886, near Holly Springs, Iowa, to Joseph and Olive (Miller) Francis. On January 9, 1907, she married Newton Jackson. The couple lived all their married life in the Oto area. He died February 20, 1927. For the last ten years she had been a resident of Countryside Retirement Home in Sioux City.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ and the Mite Society of Oto.

Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Millard (Mildred) Allman of Anthon; one son, Harlan J. of Antioch, Calif.; one brother, Cal Francis of Santa Rosa, Calif.; ten grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Mervin Jackson.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 1987, at the United Church of Christ, Oto, Iowa, with Rev. Joe Dowling Sokas officiating. The organist was Mrs. Maxine Richardson.

Casket bearers were Kevin Allman, Dan Bumstead, Mark Bumstead, Earl Pierce, Chris Allman and Larry Jackson.

Interment was in the Little Sioux Township Cemetery, Smithland, Iowa, with arrangements by Willman Funeral Home, Rodney, Iowa.
