Josephine A. Weaver, 87, of Turin, Iowa died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Burgess Health Center, Onawa, Iowa.

Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 17, 2014 at Belvidere Cemetery, rural Turin, Iowa with Pastor John Sears officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, IA. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, IA.

Josephine Ann was born September 20, 1926 in Smithland, IA the thirteenth of thirteen children to Earl and Josephine (Ryan) Heisler. She was adopted in 1932 at the age of six years old by Joe and Viola (Stueve) Heistand.

Josephine and Joe "Bud" Weaver were united in marriage on August 25, 1946 in Onawa, Iowa.

After graduating from Onawa High School, she was a Rosie the Riveter on military bombers in Omaha, NE during World War II. She went on to receive her Teacher Certificate from the University of Iowa. Josephine taught country school in Monona County and at the Castana Community School, Castana, IA. After teaching for several years, she was a stay at home mom until their two boys entered schooling. Josephine then went to work for Glass Land Company and Fischer Real Estate both in Sioux City, IA. After earning her Real Estate Brokers License, she started Weaver Land Company in 1974.

Josephine enjoyed horse races, and was an avid antique collector.

She is survived by her special friend, Bob Marshall of Turin, IA; two sons, Jon (Cynthia) Weaver of Onawa, IA, and Dan (Pati) Weaver of Turin, IA; six grandchildren, Clint Weaver, Michelle Weaver, Molly Garcia, Carrie (Russ III) McLaughlin, Josephine Weaver, and Angela (Dan) Elston; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twelve brothers and sisters; and adoptive brother, Norman "Mac" Heistand.
