KENNETH “JAKE” JACOBSON

Kenneth “Jake” Jacobson, 73, Blencoe, Iowa, died Saturday, August 22, 1987, in Elmwood Nursing Home, Onawa, Iowa, after a long illness.

He was born July 24, 1914, at Onawa, Iowa, to Oscar and Anna (Heiden) Jacobson, and attended school at Onawa. On April 17, 1938, he married Myra Terry in the first Christian church in Onawa. The couple made their home in Washington, D.C. from 1940-1943. From 1943-1947, they lived in Treynor and Council Bluffs where he owned and operated an automotive service and repair business. They lived at Sioux City and Omaha prior to moving to Blencoe in 1969. In 1974, he became co-owner of the M and J Café in Blencoe.

He was baptized in the Methodist Church in Omaha, Nebr.

Survivors include: his wife, Myra; one son, Richard of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Deborah Jacobson of Blencoe; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald and Carl.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 1987, at the Pearson Funeral Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Rev. Donald Stoll officiating. The organist was Mrs. Vince Phillips and the soloist, Mrs. Fred Gibson, sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere”.

Casket bearers were Robert Comfort, Donald Comfort, Hugh Gray, Ronald Cutler, David Anderson and Edward Osius.

Interment was in the Little Sioux Cemetery, Little Sioux, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
