ARDELL W. LEE

Ardell W. Lee, 70, Onawa, Iowa, died Sunday, July 12, 1987, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

He was born May 21, 1917, in Cottonwood, Minnesota, to Henry and Cora (Olson) Lee. In 1941 he married Lenora Nagel. The couple made their home at Maple Landing until 1963 at which time they moved to Onawa. Mrs. Lee died in 1968 in Onawa. He had farmed in the Whiting and Onawa communities. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army.

Survivors include five sons, Raymond and Ronald, both of Onawa, Duane of Moorhead, LaVern of Denison and Roger of Omaha; four daughters, Ardith Roberts, Donna Sutton and Sharon Podrazo, all of Omaha, and Karen Clayton of Tacoma, Wash.; three brothers, Clifford, Merlin and Kermit, all of Sloan; three sisters, Opal Copple of Sloan, Gladys Anderson of Whiting, and Myrtle Schmidt of Cushing; 19 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lenora.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 1987, at Skien Lutheran Church at Albaton, Iowa, with Pastor Peter Boe officiating. Mrs. Norman Westergaard, the organist, accompanied Mrs. Ronald Ernst, the soloist, in the selections “How Great Thou Art” and “In the Garden”.

Bearers were Don Loomis, Gordon Copple, Bill Voss, Merrill Copple, Arthur Tollufsen and Jim Lee.

Interment was in Fairview Cemetery at Albaton with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
